Named for a Yamasee Chief, the Altamaha Town Heritage Preserve provides access to the woodlands for the main town of the Lower Yamasee. The trail is a wide, mostly dirt path through the forest which leads to a grass clearing that overlooks the Colleten river. This trail is accessible by foot traffic only- bikes and ARVs are not permitted.

This is a peaceful hike that travels through a low-lying forest and around a couple swamp areas until it reaches a scenic lake. There are a lot of unique wildlife species in the area to observe, and an abundance of plant life. The trailhead begins at the main parking area and travels south towards the picnic area.

This is a lovely and scenic route that leads from the main parking area at Sergeant Jasper State Park. The trail begins around the two bottom lakes, before heading north and crossing the street to visit the other lake. Overall, this is a flat and easy trail that the whole family will enjoy. For those wishing to extend their hike, there is a trail that leads south as well.
