This is a long day adventure, but is best completed as a multi-day hike if on foot. The routre is mostly adjacent to Lake Simcoe, and the Oro-Medonte Rail Trail is made up of predominantly smooth fine crushed gravel and cuts through bush, wetlands and small communities. There are noticeable inclines but nothing too significant.
Activities
Features
This route goes through a nice forest and over a little creek. The trails are not well-marked, so using AllTrails for navigation is recommended. The forest is proximate to several major roadways so some mild noise will be fairly frequent. There are many rocks and tree roots jutting out of the ground, so it's helpful to wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots.
Activities
Features
This is a nice loop if you complete the outer sections of Grant's Woods. This area officially operates as a Nature Reserve and is protected by The Couchiching Conservancy, a non-profit land trust dedicated to protecting nature for future generations. There are no fees to use trails but there is a donation tube at the trailhead. The area is great in any season and you will enjoy how thick the canopy of trees are.

Features
Beautiful trail, a great spot for hiking, running or an easy mountain bike ride. You can appreciate some greats views! The trail is not marked well and there are lots of side trails, so offline map is highly recommended! The trail is next to a shooting range and private property. Therefore, please stay on the trail.
