Nicely groomed trails through deep wooded area and along a couple ponds. Trails at some points are a little steep and go along a several rock walls. Trails marked White, Red and Blue that interconnect with unmarked fire trails that are extensive and lead to a gorge and waterfall. Approx. 250 acre parcel ideal for mountain biking, hiking, walking the dog and snow-shoeing. Pine Mountain Reserve is a 368-acre open space in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The space has many trails, trailheads, and also one of Ridgefield's highest points. The loop also passes a few ponds. The Ives Trail is named in honor of Charles E. Ives. Born in Danbury in 1874, Ives is noted for his original classical compositions, winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1947 for his Symphony Number 3. Danbury's Ives has the significant distinction of being Connecticut's state composer.
