This is an all dirt trail that runs along the river for the first half mile before distancing from it. It is a very wide trail for the area. There is a large parking lot, bathrooms, and open fields near the trailhead.

Rocky River Reservation is a nicely kept section of the Cleveland Metroparks system. This walk offers some lovely nature views and occasional wildlife spottings (birds, deer, etc.). The multipurpose trail is easy walking - rated moderate because of the addition of the stair loop (the 135 stairs are worth it for the view, especially in spring and autumn!).

The route follows the paved all-purpose trail near Snow Road Picnic Area. The picnic area is commonly referred to as Monkey Island. There is a large parking lot with bathrooms, picnic tables and grills throughout, and a large open field. It can be a very busy area in the warmer months. This dirt trail starts from the right of the observation deck and proceeds to run down to the boulders along the river. The parking lot is relatively large without bathrooms. Observation deck has a great view from above, but heading down to the falls is the best way to experience them and has a better view.
