This is a hidden gem right in the middle of the city. Hikers, walkers, runners and snowshoers love this escape from the chaotic city life surrounded by nature. This trail begins by the George C. King Bridge, brings you along the Bow River Pathway (South) crossing over the Bow River through the Harry Boothman Bridge and travels East through the Bow River Pathway (North). There are so many great views of the Bow River and the city skyline along the route. There are even lots of great spots to dip your feet in the River to cool down during the summer!

Bordered by the Bow River and the community of Wildwood, Edworthy Park includes the natural areas of Douglas Fir Trail and Lawrey Gardens. On the weekends it gets very busy later in the morning and the parking lot gets full. So if you are planning on going, the earliest the best. This route follows the Bow River Pathway starting from Edworthy Park and going to Baker Park before looping around to head back the same way. This route is largely paved and ideal for road biking. This portion of the south side of the Bow River largely consists of residential areas. An alternate way back can be taken but it will consist of paved streets through neighbourhoods rather than a river pathway with nice views!

Bow River Pathway; Edworthy to Prince's Island is a segment of the long and lovely Bow River Path in Calgary. This route takes you from the beautiful Edworthy park to Prince's Island. Edworthy has parking and washroom facilities, as well as a trail network if you'd like to explore the woods. Prince's island is near the heart of downtown and great for a picnic or frisbee. The route itself is flat and paved.
