The trail starts in Campos do Jordão, and goes down the Serra da Mantiqueira, passing through Santo Antônio do Pinhal and ends in Pindamonhangaba at the foot of the mountain range. Pico do Itapeva is 2,030 meters above sea level, and the top offers one of the most beautiful views of Serra da Mantiqueira, with 15 cities in the region visible. The route also cuts through Campos do Jordão Park, created in 1941. The place features exuberant nature and various ecotourism activities.
