This loop allows you to take a nice walk around the Etang du Taure on the southern outskirts of the magnificent city of Carcassonne. Carcassonne is famous for its magnificent medieval citadel, La Cité, with the Château Comtal which dates from the 12th century, its ramparts and its towers. The Taure pond is a body of water created in 1987 and is a beautiful wild space.

This route allows you to take a walk or bike ride on the bike path along the Canal du Midi, which leads from Carcassonne to Trèbes. A beautiful route along the water combining city and nature. NOTE: As of March 2020, the trail may not be accessible past the lock bridge, due to damage along the way.
