A popular hike in the Mont-Blanc massif, on the heights of the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc ski resort. To reach the trail that will take you to the largest glacier in France, the Mer de Glace, you can take the Aiguille du Midi cable car to Plan de l'Aiguille, or walk up. Once at the top, follow the Grand Balcon Nord to get to the Mer de Glace. Along the way, you will pass by the Signal Forbes, a belvedere offering you a splendid view of the glacier.

This route, starting from the car park of the Aiguille du Midi cable car, covers 7 km round trip to the Apage de Blaitière du Dessous. The Alpage culminates at 1708 m altitude and allows hikers to enjoy the panoramic view of the Aiguilles Rouges on the one hand, and the Chamonix valley on the other.
