A beautiful, easy family hike starting from the Hotel l'Arveyron, not far from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. You will follow L'Arveyron on the 4 kilometers of this route. This torrent, also called "petit Arve" or Arveyron de la Mer de Glace, is an outlet torrent of the Mer de Glace. Some sections of this circuit are in the forest, others are more exposed to the sun.

This hiking loop will allow you to reach the center of Chamonix from the station of Les Praz - Chamonix along the Arve. Half-urban, half-forest, in summer this route provides a bit of refreshing shade and the L'Arve stream offers a water point where you can cool off before finishing the loop in Praz. The Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) is the largest glacier in France: it is 7km long and 200 meters deep and is one of the biggest attractions in the Chamonix Valley.

This is an easy, shaded hike. At the end of the walk, do not hesitate to take a break at the creamery and restaurant. You can enjoy the panoramic view from the comfortably furnished terrace facing the Aiguilles de Chamonix. It is advisable to do this hike from May to November because of the snow. However, be careful before leaving to check the conditions of the mountain.
