Here is a beautiful hike from the village of Chosalets in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley, south of Argentière to the Marmotton cable car, at the foot of the Lognan Glacier. The first part of this hike is on 4x4 roads. There is very little shade on this route and the Torrent des Aillires can be dry depending on the time of year. It is recommended to plan what you refuel. The Spot restaurant at the Croix de Lognan also offers something to eat.
