This park is a part of the Hamilton County Park System. There is a small fee to enter, but a very cheap yearly fee can be paid and then entrance into all of the parks will be available. This park has about 4 trails that can be walked. One of these trails is a Parcours Fitness Trail and has a variety of exercises that can be done along the walk. Some of the areas have paved walkways and are wheelchair accessible, but most are uphill / downhill and include steps.

This is a paved trail at Woodland Mound, only slightly off of which are trail heads for the park nature trails, a river overlook, picnic areas, a playground, the nature center, and the park's disc golf course. It passes mowed areas, meadows, woods, and even a river view. A small offshoot goes to the park's nature center with restrooms, gift shop, and exhibits. This is a nature trail at Woodland Mound Park. The trail surface is gravel or in some places grass; the trail goes through both woods and prairie areas. Two parts of the prairie section are connected by walking briefly on the paved trail, but the remainder of the trail is not paved. To drive in, park admission rates for Hamilton County residents/non-residents are $5/$8 daily or $10/$15 for an annual permit that is good for all Hamilton County Parks.

The shorter leg where the trail splits in the middle is a set of stairs also used as an exercise station; the other side avoids them.The small "lollipop" feature at the end has a more grassy area with a bench in the middle of it.
