This loop uses the Lower South Prong Trail, and Lower North Prong Trail, and returns to the starting point via the North Prong Spur. This trail mostly follows the small, dry canyons of two "prongs" of the Little Red River. There are scenic views along the way and many opportunities to spot wildlife such as bison out on the trail.

This route uses the Eagle Trail to reach the natural bridge at Caprock Canyons State Park & Trailway. The location can be tricky to find, and a bench marks the spot where the bridge is directly located right under foot. While unassuming, this geological feature is very interesting and makes for a great place to visit.
