The route is not long and technically not difficult but the elevation gain is challenging. This route will be enjoyed the most by MTB bikers with experience. This route can be done in either direction but the suggested route is the easiest because the climb is not as steep and a big part of it is paved.

The route begins at the Chocaya Crossing, on Santa Cruz Avenue, in Quillacollo, and also passes through the San Miguel Bridge on its way to the ascent to the base of Cerro Tunari where the Machu Lagoon is located, at about 4642 meters above the level of the sea. You can access tourist services with transportation from Cochabamba to the area. An excellent option both as an excursion in itself or as an approach to Cerro Tunari for its ascent.
