The Gardon gorges are a canyon dug by the Gardon river, a tributary of the Rhône, which has its source in the upper Cévennes. They are located about twenty kilometers north of Nîmes. This course starts from the village of Collias. The first part of the walk is in the gorges, going up the river. The path alternates rocks and undergrowth; sometimes sand replaces rock.
