Visit the Western Historic Trails Center located to the east banks of the Missouri River and learn about the voyage of Lewis and Clark and their journey from St. Louis. There is plenty to learn about the history of the area at the welcome center with exhibits including photos and maps. The trail leads through a scenic prairie along the Missouri River.

There is a lot to do at this extremely underrated State Park. The DNR does a wonderful job of keeping this nice park well kept. If you have a negative opinion from the past it would be a wise choice to go down there on a nice day to check out the improvements they have made all over the area.
