This section of the trail follows the banks of the Haw River and is an easy escape into nature. The trail starts at Glencoe Paddle Access and heads south, downriver, to the vacant Carolina Mill building. On the way, the trail passes an old dam site with remnants of a mill race evidenced all along the path. Be on the lookout for signs of beaver, turtles sunning on logs in the river or great blue heron and kingfishers along the banks.

Great trail that follows close to the Haw River and is fairly flat. Passes a few river “beach” areas and showcases one of the really beautiful parts of the Haw River. This route is well-maintained and well-marked, and it can be extended to an 8-mile adventure by traveling between Sellers and Great Bend Park.
