The entire Jonathan's Woods property is over 500 acres in size and managed by the Morris County Parks Commission. Bowhunting is permitted in this area seasonally, so hikers are reminded to stay on established trails and wear bright colors.

Jonathan's Woods is a 500+ acre property maintained by the Morris County Parks Commission. The sections of the route following the Purple trail will be the best for birding opportunities. The area is open for bowhunting seasonally, so hikers are reminded to stay on blazed trails and wear bright colors.

This is a perfect spot to visit each fall and spring when migratory birds pass through the area. The trail leads to a rocky ledge with great views of the surrounding area. The overlook is recognized by the Hawk Migration Association of North America as a great location to see hawks. Dogs are not permitted in Wildcat Ridge State Wildlife Management Area.
