Nandi Hills, a small albeit beautiful town, is just 60 km away from the city of Bangalore and has emerged as the perfect weekend getaway. Makalidurga is a wonderful place with many stories and legends attached to it. There are two stories just on the name. This is a spectacular trail that takes one atop the beautiful peak next to the Horagina Betta. This is one of the lesser-known paths to reach this peak and provides one with a required change that one requires after the hectic daily schedule of the Banglore City. Few species of birds can be spotted in this region and they are fun to observe. Surroundings are pretty green with cityscape making the majority as this peak lies right in the middle of the city.
