This route is a certified premium hiking trail that offers not only forests and meadows, but also insights into past and present industrial history. So you pass an old Köhlerplatz and still active basalt quarry and see a new wind farm. This path is particularly beautiful in summer when the heather is in bloom along the way. The signage (yellow P24 symbol) is very good. Other parking spaces for hikers: Söhrewald-Eiterhagen hiking car park and Brandt hiking car park near Söhrewald-Wattenbach
