The City Forest Lake Park is over 50 years old and is a pocket of green palms, water, and fresh air in the city of Mexicali. This route does not enter the Zoological Park on the east side of the lake, but it would be a good place to visit after your walk around the lake. There is a small fee to enter the zoo, but Thursdays are free. The path around the shore of the lake is very flat, paved, and dotted with green palms. Birds and other wildlife can be seen in the lake.
