This is an enjoyable loop along both the canal and river system that surrounds Alton Baker City Park. The route is very easy to get to, and there are multiple parking areas should this one at the Science Center be full. Much of the trail system is paved and gravel-based, so strollers and most recreators will find the route easy. There are numerous historic markers, interpretive signs, and views of famous places around the river. During the warmer months, folks recommend packing a picnic.
