This quiet nature reserve is a great place for those who enjoy a peaceful setting in the outdoors. There are many side trails to explore that lead off the beaten path. Along the way, you can see several small ponds where wildlife may be present. The path is mostly a dirt surface with many trees that provide shade.

Enjoy an adventurous stroll through Tandy Hills Natural Area beginning at Stratford Park. There are many side trails to explore along the way and a variety of scenery to check out. This is a great trail for getting some elevation without having to leave the city. The area can be very dry and rocky, with seasonal creek beds that are dry in the summer months.

This route features some scenic views of downtown from certain viewpoints along the way. There is beautiful vegetation and an abundance of wildlife in the area to observe. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended. There are some sections of rocky paths that can make navigating the terrain a bit challenging- sturdy footwear is suggested.

Tandy Hills Natural Area is a remnant of prairie located in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas. The park is managed by the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge and allows visitors to explore the beautiful prairie flora which holds over 500 native plant species. This park is parallel to I-30 and only 5 minutes from the downtown Fort Worth area.

This park offers a number of well-maintained paths. There is a small pond as well as gravel and concrete paths for kids and families to enjoy. Amenities in the park include water fountains and a bathroom at the center of the park. There is plenty of parking, a very large recreational area, and a frisbee course. The southern area is wooded and the northern area is mostly exposed to the sun.
