Part of Section 4 of the 100-mile N.C. Bartram Trail. The trail offers a steady climb up the ridges and peaceful forests. There are spring and summer wildflowers along the trail and a cascading waterfall within 5 min. of the parking area. At William's Pulpit there are views of Mill Creek Country Club and the valley from a 100-ft.-long rock shelf.

You can see Cullasaja Falls from a very small pullout on US-64. There is room for four cars; make sure you pull all the way off the road. You have to climb over the guardrail to get to the trail to the bottom, which is unofficial and extremely steep. The rocks are very slippery and this trail is not for the faint of heart. This route is a section of the much longer Bartram Trail. The start of this section is Jones Gap. Users have reported GPS having difficulty locating the trailhead. From the intersection of US 64 and Gold Mine Rd, take Gold Mine Rd for a short distance before turning left onto Dendy Orchard Rd. Take Dendy Orchard Road for 2.3 miles and you turn right on a gravel mountain road. There will be a sign for the Bartram Trail, follow this road for 2 miles to find the trailhead.

This is a section of the Appalachian Trail. (This can also be done from Winding Stair Gap to Rock Gap). Both have parking lots and is accessible from public roads. There is even a shuttle service you can have drop you off at the Rock Gap trail head.
