Demanding stage of the long-distance hiking trail Via Alpina - Roter Weg. From Gargellen it now goes into the heart of the Silvretta. A very strenuous stage that leads to over 2,500m - to the Vergaldner Joch. Interestingly, the Vergaldner valley has a favorable climate, so that an extremely diverse world of flowers has developed on the southern slopes. Stage 1 of the ViaValellina from Gargellen in Vorarlberg to Klosters in Graubünden. The hike starts in Gargellen in Austria and goes from the Montafon over the alpine meadows of Valzifenz and the Schlappiner Joch, which is at 2202 meters above sea level, to the former Walser settlement of Schlappin in the Prättigau.
