The Scout Trail is an out and back route, but it can be done as a loop following this map. However, you will have to walk on Palmer Ave for a small section to get back to the trailhead. The trail climbing efforts are rewarded by spectacular views high on the rim of Glenwood Canyon, hikers can see the sliver of the Colorado River and the steep cliff edges below. The forest here is thick with vegetation and wildflowers.

The trail follows No Name Creek, which flows year round and is supplemented by a diversion that brings water from the larger Grizzly Creek drainage into the No Name basin. The trail is well-defined and maintained but can be strenuous at times. Highlights include beautiful stream-side hiking, with frequent crossings from one bank to the other, and waterfall views.

This is and awesome trail which presents hikers with some serious elevation gain over the distance it travels. The terrain itself is not too difficult, and the trail is easy to follow. It also rewards hikers with some spectacular viewpoints along the way, and some lovely waterfalls and rushing water during periods of rainfall and wet weather.
