This paved trail closely follows the East River and winds through woodlands, fields, and a few parks along its very scenic route. Wildlife of all sort are regular sights on the trail, including deer, rabbits, herons, hawks, turkeys, and turtles, to name just a few. There are numerous benches, picnic tables, and parks (with restrooms) along the way to stop and take a break. Access is easy with many parking areas and access points. The trail can get busy, but never crowded.
