Cycle route through the countryside between Groningen and Winsum. The first part of the route runs through the countryside and through the villages of Adorp, Sauwerd and Wetsinge. Here you can admire churches, windmills and old farms. The second part of the route is dominated by the Reitdiep river. You cross the river a few times and follow the water until the intersection with the Van Starkenborgh Canal. You drive back to the starting point along the canal.

Round trip from Groningen station. Over the dike along the canal you follow the route to the Hoornsemeer. You walk along the northern edge of the lake and then continue to the Piccardthofplas. Finally, the route takes you right through the city park. The route is entirely on asphalt, it is a good running route or an easy walk.

Take a leisurely bike ride, or run, from Groningen train station to the Hoornsemeer and Paterswoldsemeer lakes. The lakes are just south of the city. You drive through the Corpus den Hoorn district to the Hoornsemeer, and from here over the banks to the Paterswoldsemeer. You make a tour around the lakes and you drive back along the winding river Hoornse Diep and through the De Wijert district.
