The Amesbury Riverwalk is currently an out and back walk which passes by the Powow River along the backside of a residential area and through light a manufacturing area. The trail passes under I495 and is commonly used as a bike route but is also a great 2.5 mile trail for walkers right near downtown Amesbury. This loop starts at the Gardner Lake Beach and travels along the edge of the lake through Bachelder Park. At the crossroads keep left to follow the edge of the lake and turn right up the second main trail called Powow Trail. This is a moderate trail through the woods and can be muddy in the Spring.
