Relais du Klevener

This hike starts north of Barr. The route goes through the Château du Landsberg, La Handschab, the Kiosk Jadelot, the Rocher du Wachstein, Schaffstein, the Maennelstein, among others, and partly follows the Sentier du Mur Païen. The route continues via the Rocher du Panorama, Beckenfels, Mont Sainte-Odile and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption, part of the Convent of Mont Sainte-Odile, and the Abbey of Truttenhausen, before returning to the starting point.

This tour through the vineyards offers beautiful views of the town of Barr, the surrounding mountains and the plain of Alsace. The Kirchberg Grand Cru Kirchberg offers a wine with very good ageing potential, which develops over time an impressive body, delicate fruitiness and spicy aromas. This beautiful hike from the wine-growing town of Barr in the Bas-Rhin takes you to the ruins of Château du Lansberg. The course evolves in the Kirchberg vineyard then in the forest. The Barr region has a very varied geology (schists, granite, diorite, volcanic deposits, sandstone, etc.) resulting from a long and complex formation.
