Baana is a light traffic fairway built on the former Helsinki Harbor Railway route. The route runs from Kansalaistori to the border of Ruoholahti and Kamppi. The fairway has been significant in the history of Helsinki since the end of the 19th century when it originally connected the city's ports by rail. The fairway is in a ravine dug into the rock. There are several staircases and ramps leading to the street level. Cyclists and pedestrians have their own lanes.

The journey continues along the shoreline through Meripuisto, and returns via Johannenpuisto back to the starting point.
