This trail is part of the Happy Creek trail system just south of Hinton. There are many easy mountain biking trail options in the area that are also used for hiking and running. The trails are well maintained and easy to follow. It starts off at the Beaver Boardwalk, taking you up close to a very impressive beaver dam. The trail is a nice hike through the forest, although there aren't any views - some of the other trails in the area have viewpoints.

This is a wonderful easy walk around the lake where ducks hang out and there are lots of places to sit. In the area there are also often beavers, muskrat, and lots of birds. The forested trail transitions through many different habitats and is peaceful and relaxing. The trail is very family-friendly and accessible for kids, bikes, and strollers. Sections of the boardwalk may be blocked off due to damage.

William Switzer Fire Tower Trail is a short and steady climb to a great lookout. If you plan to stop and enjoy the view or have a snack bring a sweater for the wind, even in summer! There are lots of other trails nearby to choose from as well, if visitors are looking for some variation. A great option for runners wanting to train on an incline!

Friendly Vistas Trail is a well-marked and easy hike along a gravel pathway. Much of the trail is through the forest, providing much needed shade on a hot day. There are the occasional glimpses of the lake, providing beautiful views over the lake to the mountains, with benches along the way to enjoy the nature landscapes. There are also lots of good spots to see wildlife.

Joachim Valley Trail to Airplane Wreckage is an enjoyable trail to a simulated airplane wreck, which is used for search and rescue training. The trail itself is flat and perfect for all ages and skill levels. However it may get muddy in some areas. The airplane wreckage is a great place to take photos and might be the best part of the route!
