This is a beautiful and easy trail through a gorgeous garden with streams. It is nature and art beautifully combined. This loop is a combination of paved trails, boardwalks, and dirt walking trails. The brown trail section is paved and ideal for strollers, wheelchairs, and bicycles.

Along this route, users will see the plants and animals that call this prairie community home. Rough blazing star, Indian grass, and big bluestem all grow in the park. Birders can keep a lookout for field sparrows, towhee, and American woodcock.

The 493-acre park is bisected by the Ottawa River and has sandy soil indicative of the rare Oak Openings Region. The prairie community at Wildwood is home to many diverse and fascinating plants and animals. In the spring, it is a breeding site for ground-nesting birds such as rufous-sided towhees, field sparrows and American woodcock. Summer brings a spectacular display of prairie wildflowers and grasses, such as rough blazing star, big bluestem and Indian grasses, some reaching 10 feet high.
