The Mercer Arboretum loop begins in Mercer Peril park, close to the Mercer Botanical Gardens. The loop can be accessed from either side of the trail. The path is shaded and easy to follow with many different tree species lining the walkways. Many hikers like to stop at oxbow lake and hickory swamp. Make sure to leave time to check out the botanical gardens and turn this fun trail into a full-day outing.

Accessibility: There are at least 4 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off Aldine Westfield Road at the west end of the trail.
