This is the quickest trail from the main entrance to the bottom of Taughannock Falls. It is easy and heavily trafficked. This trail passes by a 20-foot cascade known as the Little or Lower Falls before you reach the main falls. Many people use this area for swimming or jumping into the pool but this is prohibited. Begin from the Taughannock Falls Overlook and head downhill towards Route 89 along the North Rim Trail. From here there is a view looking downstream towards Cayuga Lake. The trail then heads into the gorge along the creek. Enjoy the view of the 215-foot waterfall before retracing the route back to the overlook.

This trail loops around the gorge carved out by Taughannock Creek with views of the creek and the falls below along the way. The trail begins on Jacksonville Road and runs towards Taughannock Boulevard. The trail heads downhill on the way towards Taughannock Blvd, so be prepared for the hike back out. This loop is very popular, an early start is recommended, especially on the weekends.

Parking is available in a large dirt lot just off Jacksonville Road/Route 143. The first good view of the creek and a waterfall is just off the South Rim Trail shortly after you leave the parking area. The trail continues through the woods with occasional overlook points along the way over the river and steep gorge.

Very simple, easy walk to a small waterfall. These falls have a fun little sitting area made of rock chairs and a rock table at the base of the falls, and they are also with in a few minutes drive of other falls such as Cascadilla Falls. No swimming.
