This pristine preserve not only serves as an area of protection for many diverse plant and animal species, but it is also the site of the southernmost battles that occurred during the American Revolution. This is a wonderful area to explore the many habitats located in the preserve. There is a kayak launch available as well for those wishing to explore the area by water.

This route is a nice escape into a natural area located right in Jacksonville. This is a great family-friendly choice to explore the different biomes in the park. The section around the north lake loop is often quiet and peaceful. The trail can become muddy and flooded during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended.

This route takes visitors along the shores of the St. Johns River and out to a pier with a great view of downtown Jacksonville. Many sections of this trail are exposed and bringing sun protection is advised. The first section is a paved, wide trail in the shade between a park and a golf course. The second section is an elevated boardwalk along the river with great views and lots of folks fishing. The third section is a wooded loop with a lot of raised roots.

This is a wide and flat walk through Cedar Point Preserve that features a shaded path through scrub palmettos and old pines. There are sections through a marsh that can be muddy and flooded after heavy rainfall- waterproof shoes are recommended. There are many opportunities to view wildlife and local flowers along the way.

This route includes the full selection of trails available at Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens. There are informational signs to educate visitors on the flora and fauna in the area. Spend the day with the whole family wandering around the property and take in all the natural beauty that this area has to offer.
