This trail starts in Selden and then leads up through the forest past some watercourses. After a short time one reaches the Lötsch Glacier and hikes up along its side to the top of the Gitzifurka at 2912m. Especially the last part to the top requires full concentration and a head for heights.

The trail starts at the mountain station of the Gandegg Hockenhorngrat cable car, a few meters below the summit of the Hockenhorn at 3293 m. One hikes along this ridge and can enjoy wonderful views. Then one also reaches the Lötschepass at 2690m where it is possible to relax wonderfully. It then continues on open and partly stony terrain again in the direction of Hockenalp and again on the Lauchenalp.
