There are two trails on Tunnel Island, Loop A and Loop B. The route shown on this page is just for Loop A. You can continue down trail B to do a longer hike. There are a couple other trails you could follow that led to different things (lookout point, falls, etc) and many places you could stop and swim at or rest.

Kenora's most beautiful and popular hiking trail takes you around the shore of tunnel island and past Norman Dam. It's a great little trail system that goes all along the water with little scenic off-shoots. With the number of different trails you could make this as short or as long as you like. There are lots of places to swim when the water levels are low so bring your suit on a hot day. The terrain can be a bit steep and rocky and rooty in places.

Access at the end of the road following the lake, of Rushing River Park campground. The loop explores the land between Stokes Lake and Lower Dogtooth lake. A bridge helps cross the wetlands that link the two bodies of water. The route might be a little overgrown, with some fallen trees, and few markers so an offline map is recommended.
