Walter Bean Grand River Trail is a nice walk through some wooden areas and then a nice stroll along the river by the golf course. There is no winter maintenance, so not super stroller friendly in the winter. In the summer it’s definitely stroller and kid friendly. Keep an eye out for deer on the first stretch there are usually a few hanging out in the bushes. Great for locals in the area looking for a run or walk in their day.

This is a great trail with nice changes in elevation. There are a couple of steep hills on the way back. In any season, members will love the many birds, squirrels and chipmunks that scatter this ecosystem. Overall, this is a very pretty walk along the river. During spring, you should expect much of this route to be flooded or close to flooding, so be prepared by wearing waterproof gear.

A very nice trail that follows moderately challenging sections in some parts along the river, and in the inner foothills near Natchen Hill. There is a good mix of woods and paved paths, and some gravel sections along the waterways. The trails are marked by the park for the most part, but there are lots of other nearby paths to get you back to the main trail if you do get lost. In the winter, this is a fantastic cross-country ski loop thanks to the shorter distance.

The Iron Horse Trail connects uptown to downtown through an interesting mix of parks, light industrial, and residential sections. The trail is very well maintained throughout the year and all paved with asphalt. There are some local historic structures with historical information and benches in certain spots. There's a bridge over a creek and railway tracks as you approach Victoria Park. It can get fairly busy on weekends but it's a great spot for a leisurely walk, bike ride, or rollerblade!

This is a surprising hidden gem of urban forest in south Kitchener. The trail follows a relaxed outer loop with a number of interior subloops. The trailhead parking off Bleams Road. There are even some display posts to interpret the environment and some local area history. This trail is absolutely beautiful in May (Mother’s Day to Victoria Day) to see the ground filled with beautiful trilliums. The trails loop around in a generally small urban forest.
