Historical hiking trail with great views in the Siebengebirge nature park, North Rhine-Westphalia. The tour starts in Thomasberg and goes through Königswinter. There is much to see and explore along this trail. Drachenburg Castle is definitely worth a look. Most of this route leads along the Rheinsteig. The moderate to difficult stage is almost alpine with an incline of 1149 m and a gradient of 1172. Shortly after the monastery, after a gentle entry, a shrine from 1724 appears. The Rheinsteig branches off to the left and the path becomes narrower and steeper on its way through the Siebengebirge. After a short look from the beautiful terrace of the restaurant on the Drachenfels, or the Drachenburg, we continue, finally downhill, to the moonlight...

This route starts at the Heisterbach monastery and explores the hilly forests in the area. On the way to the Petersberg you also pass the Stenzelberg and the Nonnenstromberg. The hotel and the chapel are located on the Petersberg, accompanied by a view of the Rhine. You can also eat and rest there.

This route through the Siebengebirge is varied and not too strenuous. You get a lot of insights into the structure of a volcano on the Weilberg, pass exciting rock formations on the Stenzelberg and hike around the Dollendorfer Hardt. Of course, Heisterbach Abbey is also on the route.
