This is a family-friendly park that is short but scenic. Wildlife is abundant in this area and it is common to be the only person hiking here, making this a great trail for those who like solitude. The park is primitive and the trails can be overgrown during the summer months. Gate park hours are from 8am to 4:30pm.

Cypress Lake is a Lafayette landmark. It is a 2-acre pond located in the middle of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus.
