A short drive from downtown Burbank, Trail Canyon Falls is a beautiful, easy-to-navigate, waterfall hike in Angeles National Forest. The first half of the hike is shaded and includes a couple of water crossings. The second half is more exposed with limited shade. Once you park in the parking area off Big Tujunga Canyon Road take the North Trail Canyon Road to Trail Canyon Trail Path. This shady hike is very popular, especially for families, and can be crowded on the weekends. There are several great spots to stop and rest along the way, including a picnic area. At the nature center near the trailhead, there are restroom facilities available. The best time to see the falls is after a recent rain. This seasonal waterfall can be dry unless there has been recent precipitation, especially during the dry summer months.

The Burkhart trailhead starts near a small parking lot that is located in the back of the Buckhorn Campground. One option is to park on the road and walk 1 mile through the campground to the trailhead. Follow the trail downhill for about 2.7 miles.
