The summit is now a remarkable historical site and observatory conquered by the French on December 2, 1914 after many battles including that of Christmas Eve 1914. The Germans built on the east side a real fortress with barracks underground.

You will pass through the Lac Blanc 900 station "l'Auberge du Vallon" via the Chemin de la Petite Ferme. Then you will walk along the Vallon pond, and the locality "la Grande Ferme", before returning to Bonhomme.
