The route goes through Val de Courre, the Col de Courre, and below Puy Redon (standing at 1781 m above sea level). The route continues via Pas de l'Âne (1810 m), Puy de Sancy (1885 m), Col de la Cabane (1785 m), Puy Ferrand (1854 m) and Puy de Crebasse ( 1761m).
