The trail offers graveled hiking trails with interpretive signs along the trail pointing out the variety of habitats along the trails.

The Savannah Ridge trail is a narrow single track that winds along a ridge overlooking the east side of Spring Hollow and through an open woodland known as a savanna. These open woodlands and glades are peppered with wildflowers during spring and fall. Part of the trail was originally old roads, used by people living in the area from the 1840"s, and now is a hard-packed gravel and grass surface, barely identifiable as an old road system. This trail takes you through Spring Hollow to a 300 ft. long natural tunnel. It is about 15 ft. wide. This is a very unique natural feature. The trail to the tunnels takes you through creek beds, meadows and wooded hills. The trail head is in the parking lot just south of the spring. Trail maps are available at the visitor center.

This trail is almost entirely in upland deciduous forest with a full canopy of different kinds of oak and hickory trees.
