October Mountain doesn't have a proper summit, but this hike takes you to the very top tier, and along the way offers a couple of swift-moving brooks and a lake where you can take a dip, if the weather is nice. Park in the little lot at he end of Park Street, Stockbridge. Start the hike from the bridge across the Housatonic River, then make a 90º turn left. Follow the path by the river (include the little loop at the end) then make your way back to the bridge. Accessibility: There is one designated accessible space in the paved parking lot off of Park Street at the west end of the trail. It does not appear to be van-accessible with a striped access aisle.
