It is a long trail on the shoreline between two important rivers whose mouth was modified in the fifteenth century by the Republic of Venice to safeguard or regulate the lagoon tides of the large Venice lagoon and the subsequent construction of the Litoranea Veneta (artificial canal). Coastal defenses were necessary (more than 120 warfs in the sea) under penalty of erosion of the sands and their transport to the Bocca del Lido (one of the three mouths for entry into the Venice Laguna)

Route to do in the summer because a stretch of 70-80 meters are to be done by swimming (estuary of the Laguna del Mort). The stretch on the beach is facilitated by a path on a cement floor but, after the nudist beach, the path back to via del Pioppo winds for 2 km in the pine forest and on the natural slopes. From the marina onwards you enter the tourist world par excellence and for a solitary Via Santa Croce (not registered here) you return to the starting point.
