Hotel City Locarno

A beautiful circular walk directly on the idyllic Lago Maggiore in the canton of Ticino. This route leads to the beautiful Castello Visconteo, which was probably built around 866. The start of this tour is at the port of Locarno. At first you climb steeply towards Orselina (cobbled). The city of Locarno is located on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore and on the eastern edge of the Maggia delta. The Monti della Trinita district and the town of Orselina lie on the slope overlooking the town. The trail starts at the port of Locarno and then it goes through nature via Prè Sopra Locarno up to the Cimetta and the Lo Stallone Spitz at 1496m. The trail starts in Locarno in the sunny canton of Ticino and goes up to the Madonna del Sasso. From here the route proceeds on the Sentiero Collina Bassa and then on the Via delle Vigne on the hills of Gudo up to Monte Carasso. Wonderful tour overlooking Lake Maggiore. The region is like a small paradise of sun and summer. To return to the starting point you can take the train or the bus.
