This beautiful ascent hike leads from Kriens near Lucerne to the Pilatus Kulm (2106m). It goes through pastures and forests and once at the top visitors have a wonderful view of the Alps and the spectacular Lake Lucerne. We recommend bringing enough water, as the route can be particularly strenuous in summer.

This trail starts in Kriens at the valley station of the Kriens - Fräkmüntegg gondola and then soon leads to the Schlossbach and then continues through the Krienseregg area to the Fräkmüntegg peak at 1412m. Then the hike goes via Gschwaend and also past the Langmattli mountain station until it turns off again in the direction of the starting point. The Fräkmüntegg is a foothill of Mount Pilatus in the Emmental Alps. It lies at 1469 meters and is directly on the border between the cantons of Lucerne and Nidwalden. Visitors can find many adrenaline-pumping activities, such as ziplining (Dragon Glider). We recommend going even further up to the Pilatus Kulm. The view of Lake Lucerne is simply fantastic.
