From the large parking area near the house, begin on the Farm Trail which passes a small pond and vernal pools. Vernal pools are small seasonal bodies of water that are breeding areas for frogs and salamanders. The trail then makes a loop around the dairy goat farm before returning back towards the house.

Begin from the large parking area near the Hildene home and begin on the wooded Farm Trail. Turn onto the Maple Trail which is made up of a combination of forest floor material and gravel and head downhill towards the Dene Farm. Use caution when crossing River Rd. The Meadow Trail travels through an open pasture at the Dene Farm.

Begin near the welcome center and cut through towards the back of the building towards the garden area which leads to the trails. This route travels over rolling terrain on the Lookout Trail which is heavily wooded and has some uneven footing. The Two Bridges Trail is wooded and travels through some sections of trail that are often wet.

Begin from the Main House through an open area that enters into the forest. The trail makes a loop through the woods before returning back towards the house. This trail has a few steep sections and plenty of exposed roots and rocks along the path. Some hikers might choose to bring along a trekking pole.
