The Lodges at Sunset Village, McHenry: Certified Dog-Friendly Rank & Review
The Lodges at Sunset Village received a failing F Roch Rank. This place is a tough sell for dog owners. While they allow dogs, the restrictions and lack of amenities make it a challenging stay. Dogs are confined to the rooms, with no access to the bar, restaurant, or lounge. This means your four-legged friend will miss out on any social time outside the room. Plus, leaving your dog alone in the room is a no-go, which can be a real headache if you plan to explore without them.
The $25 per day fee per pet, capped at $100, isn't outrageous, but given the lack of perks like dog beds or bowls, it feels like you're paying for the privilege of having your dog stay in the room. There's no weight limit, which is a relief for owners of larger breeds, but you're limited to two dogs per room.
On the upside, the location offers plenty of land for walking your dog, which is a saving grace. However, the absence of a dedicated dog space or nearby parks is a letdown. The lack of any dog-specific services like walking or sitting further diminishes the appeal.
In summary, unless you're content with keeping your dog cooped up in the room, this isn't the most welcoming spot for canine companions. The fees don't match the experience, and the restrictions are a hassle. Look elsewhere if you want a truly dog-friendly getaway.
